The University of Lincoln and partners (funded by the National Institute for Health Research) have recently published the 'Probation Healthcare Commissioning Toolkit: A resource for commissioners and practitioners in health and criminal justice'.

The toolkit is available at www.probhct.blogs.lincoln.ac.uk/  and it contains sections on the health needs of people in contact with probation, the roles and responsibilities of different organisations in relation to healthcare provision for this group, potential models of good practice, and some preliminary work on the development of quality indicators around the health of those in contact with probation and the quality of the healthcare that they receive.

The website also includes an easy read summary of the research, which was co-produced with service user representatives; and an opportunity to provide feedback on the toolkit.

The team are looking to explore domestic and international research collaborations to develop new projects in this area.
